I have become fascinated with meditation and creating a strong mind along with a strong body.
A lot of the material regarding meditation seems to be entirely mystical. I saw a video on youtube of a KGB agent attacking this type of meditation as bs, but he did not mention what the Soviets used in meditation. I figure the Soviets would have been the best group to learn a scientific method of meditation as any form of superstition was outlawed.
I know in East Germany the government spent slightly over 2% of their GDP on exercise facilities and sports and supposedly the Soviet budget was MUCH larger and were able to do some amazing work in mental training.
There were several accounts of their athletes being able to predict what their opponents were going to do or in other words they possessed a form of pre-cognition. Sounds daft I know, but as the Soviet athletes were taught from childhood to disregard superstition their claims are more likely to be valid. With the fall of the USSR and the severe economic problems Russia went through in the 90's the research was ceased.
Does anyone know what forms of meditation the Soviets used?
