Klitschko Manager Boente: Vitali Has To Be Well Prepared For David HayeEastsideboxing.com
British heavyweight boxer David Haye will fight WBC champion Vitali Klitschko in London in June 2009, having agreed terms with the Ukrainian. The deal was struck on Saturday night following Wladimir Klitschko’s victory over Hasim Rahman in Mannheim in Germany. Vitali’s manager Bernd Boente told Setanta Sports News that the main issues had been agreed and that both parties were working through the finer details. He said: “We met with Adam Booth (his manager) and David Haye. We’ve verbally agreed to do a fight between Vitali Klitschko, the heavyweight champion and David Haye..
“The main issues have been discussed and we all agreed. I don’t see any further problems.
“Vitali was very impressed [by Haye’s performance against Monte Barrett]. He knows that David is a very, very tough opponent. He has to be well prepared.”
Just last week Haye hinted that he would take on Vitali’s brother Wladimir, claiming that the younger Klitschko had the less hectic schedule. However Boente added that Wladimir had a number of names waiting for a _title_ shot. He said:
“Wladimir has other opportunities. He’s maybe going to go to the USA and fight Chris Arreola, who is big out there. His next opponent is not 100% confirmed yet. It could be also be [Nikolai] Valuev or [Aleksandr] Povetkin.

Vitali Klitschko vs David Haye Looks To Be On, But Will It Be For The _title_?15.12.08 - by James Slater

As has already been making the rounds on practically every single boxing site on the internet, there is a very good chance David Haye will get what he has been desperate for, and he will face WBC heavyweight king Vitali Klitschko in 2009. Haye has been quoted as saying the fight is a "done deal," and that he and the elder Klitschko will clash in London next summer. As great and exciting as this new is, though, another news article has thrown up speculation that the fight, if it does indeed happen (and both sides definitely do want the bout), may not be for the WBC crown "Dr. Iron Fist" holds.
As has been reported in the past, Cuban defector Juan Carlos Gomez is Klitschko's mandatory contender with the WBC and he has to be accommodated or the 37-year-old may be stripped of his belt. Speaking in The Guardian newspaper today, Bernd Boente, the manager of the two Klitschkos, spoke of how he would be willing to risk this action taking place if it was necessary to make the fight all of boxing wants to see.
"We are absolutely confident this is a fight that the whole of Germany and Britain will want to see," Boente told the paper. "But it is also one which will sell across the world. It is a huge fight which, with the exception of one between Wladimir and Vitali - which will never happen - is the best heavyweight fight that can be made right now.

"We sat down and talked numbers that made sense for both sides, and it's done and dusted," stated Haye to the BBC. "We agreed terms and just need to dot the I's and cross the T's. Plain and simple, this is how boxing should be." The WBC has stated that Klitschko has a mandatory obligation to face Juan Carlos Gomez first before any bout with Haye can take place.

Haye deal to fight Klitschko is sealed with a fistBy Sportsmail Reporter
15th December 2008
David Haye was involved in a furious bust-up with Vitali Klitschko before the pair agreed terms to fight in June.
Klitschko, 37, had to be pulled off Haye in a restaurant after the Londoner had shown the 6ft 8in Ukrainian a mock-up picture of himself holding the decapitated head of Vitali’s brother Wladimir.
Haye plans to beat Vitali to set up a clash with Wladimir to decide the world’s undisputed heavyweight champion.
Haye, 28, said: ‘I have already riled the boys, which they needed. Wladimir’s fight against Hasim Rahman was boring.
'A Mike Tyson would have eaten him up in three rounds and spat him out. That is exactly what I’m going to do with the lame Klitschkos.’
Klitschko's manager Bernd Boente speculated that the fight could well take place at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge ground.
'We agreed to do the fight next summer in London,' he said.
'It could take place at Wembley, but maybe it's too big. I'd personally prefer Chelsea. I've been there a couple of times and I'm a fan.'

Klitschko vs. Haye: It’s On!Eastsideboxing.com
By Vikram Sangar:
Exciting heavyweight prospect David Haye has confirmed a deal for him to fight reigning WBC Heavyweight Champion Vitali Klitschko has been agreed.
Speaking to BBC’s Radio Five Live tonight, the Brit confirmed he will finally get his much sought after Heavyweight _title_ shot next June at a venue to be decided in London.
Haye told the BBC: "We agreed terms and just need to dot the I's and cross the T's. Plain and simple - this is how boxing should be.”
“We sat down and talked numbers that made sense for both sides and it's done and dusted..”
Haye became undisputed Cruiserweight champion by sensationally knocking out _title_-holders Jean-Marc Mormeck and Enzo Maccarinelli. His transition to Heavyweight boxing saw him demolish American Monte Barrett inside five rounds last month and now has his sights set on defeating arguably the world’s number one heavyweight.
“I have said from day one I am going to be the undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight champion and I have not disappointed. I am not cherry-picking; I am going after the most dangerous fighter on the planet.” said Haye.
“This is going to be the biggest fight since Lennox and Tyson!”
