Klitschko beats Chagaev by TKO in round 10

"This was definetely a very good fight of me. Ruslan was very strong and a tough opponent. But I was simply better. However, I know that my best fight is still to come", said Klitschko after the fight.

The arena, the football stadium of FC Schalke 04, was filled completely with 61 000 fans, movie stars and celebrities. The atmosphere was simply electric.

Klitschko chose the ideal tactics for boxing against a lefthander. Having a huge advantage in size and physical strength, Wladimir constantly connected to the head of the Uzbek boxer and was able to drop Chagaev with a big right hand in round two - the first time Chagaev fell in his career. After the ninth round ended, Chagaev’s trainer Michael Timm made a decision to stop fight.

Through this win Wladimir Klitschko is the holder of "The Ring Magazine Heavyweight Championship Belt" that had been hold by his older brothger Vitali until 2005 and was vacant since then.
