September 24th, Atlantic City – Without a doubt the fight against hard hitting superstar on the rise Samuel Peter was a milestone for the reputation of Wladimir Klitschko. Peter was able to get Wladimir into serious trouble early. In round three Peter picked up the pace and was landing clean shots to Klitschko´s head. He knocked down the Ukrainian three times during the first half of the fight, the end seemed to be imminent. But Wladimir showed tremendous heart, superior skills and superb conditioning and won every round except the ones he got knocked down. After twelve rounds the boxer had beaten the puncher and Michael Buffer announced the unanimous verdict: 114:111 in favour of Wladimir on all three scorecards!
